Mitchell “Nick” Ellis, Jr., 43 of Fort Smith, formerly of Monticello, passed away December 6, 2014 in Fort Smith. He was born in Monticello December 6, 1971 to the late Mitchell Lavon “Mickey” Ellis, Sr. and his mother, Gwendolyn Beard Ellis.

He was a well test operator in the oil industry. He was also preceded in death by his father, Mitchell Lavon “Mickey” Ellis, Sr.; maternal grandparents, Albert O. Beard, Jr and Elsie Whitlock Beard and paternal grandparents, Tommie Richard Ellis and Roxie Irene Watson Ellis.

Survivors include his mother; Gwendolyn Beard Ellis of Monticello; two sisters, Nancy McKeown and husband, Bud of Rock Springs, Candice Carter and husband, Derek of Conway; the love of his life, Dianna Sharum of Fort Smith; two nephews, Matthew McKeown and Andrew McKeown of Rock Springs; two nieces, Grace Ashton Gavin and Nora Beth Carter of Conway; one stepdaughter, Blair Hilburn and husband Jonathan of Jonesboro; two step-grandsons, Jace and Bryson Hilburn and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Graveside service will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 pm that same day at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home. Online guestbook www.stephensondearman.com.
