Bobby Gene Allen, age 75 of Monticello, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. He was born on March 5, 1939 in Drew County to the late Thomas Lee and Linnie Marie Calhoun Allen. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Dois Willis.

He retired from Coca-Cola Bottling Company after 38 years of service, worked for the Monticello Fire Dept. for 20 years and was Assistant Chief when he retired. Bobby was a member of Second Baptist Church where he was a member of the Leonard Polk Sunday School Class and served on various committees of the church. He was also a charter member of the Jose Chapel Hunting Club where he served as President.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Elna Cater Allen of Monticello; one son, Robert Fred Allen of Monticello; one daughter, Lena Ann Allen Kelley and husband Rodney of Monticello; one grandson Christopher Charles Kelley of Monticello, AR two brothers, Otis Allen of Monticello and Lee Edward Allen of Crossett; one sister, Mae Sawyer of Dallas, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be 3:00 pm Saturday, December 20 at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with burial in Andrews Chapel. Visitation will from 6:00-8:00 pm Friday evening at the funeral home.
