She passed away peacefully at her home in the early morning hours Friday, January 22, 2016, surrounded by her family.

She was the caregiver to her husband Dub for many years until his death in 1971. She worked for Burlington Industries for thirteen years until her retirement in 1985. She was a life-long member of Green Hill United Methodist Church where she taught the children’s Sunday School class for many years.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Derwood (Dub) McClain, one sister, Geneva Stephenson Piper, and five brothers, Jack, Olyn, Walter Jr., Winfred, and Thomas Stephenson.

Fay Wright is survived by her daughter, Kay Worbington and husband Kenny; her son, Phillip McClain; two granddaughters, Melanie Worbington Calhoun and husband Buddy Joe, and Heather Worbington Lowe and husband Tillman; two great-grandchildren, Jarrett Hartness and Alexandria Lowe; one step-daughter, Brenda Pearson and husband Allen; two step-grandchildren, Keith Pearson and Kerry Dickerson and three step great-grandchildren.
