He attended Faith Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his mother, Debbie Donaldson Holmes of Monticello; one brother, Chris Holmes of Monticello; one sister, Amy Nicholson of Star City; his grandmother, Vonnie Donaldson of Monticello.
