Luella Faye Skomp, 69, of Monticello, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2013 at her home. She was born January 22, 1944 in Guy, Arkansas to the late John Wesley James and Delitha Davis James.
She worked at Burlington Industries for 29 years, Selma Sawmill for 12 years, a caregiver and was of the Pentecostal faith. She was also preceded in death by one son, James Wesley Hammock, two grandsons, Richard Martin Hammock and Thomas Clifton “Hammock” Huff, the father of her children, James “Bo” Hammock, two brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include her husband, Ed Skomp of Monticello; one son, Charlie Hammock and wife, Becky of Monticello; one daughter, Betty Lou Hammock Pymn and husband, Brian of Monticello; four step sons, Charles Skomp and Steven Skomp both of Monticello, Carl Myers and Jerry Myers both of Indiana; two brothers, Jim James and wife, Jean of Texarkana, AR and Carl James of Winchester; two sisters, Minnie McGlaughlin and husband, Robert of Monticello and Bertie Herring and husband, Bobby of Warren; three grandchildren, C. J. Hammock, Eric Hammock and wife, Jessica all of Monticello, Elizabeth Hammock Montgomery and husband, Keith of California; three great-grandsons, Blaiden Thomas White, Jerrod Kole Montgomery and Remington James Hammock and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
