Annie Laura Youngblood
January 28, 1947 - August 10, 2013

Annie Laura Dumas Youngblood, 66, of Monticello, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. She was born January 28, 1947 in Coy, Alabama to the late William David Dumas and Grace Pauline Sheffield Dumas.

She was retired from Vanity Fair Apparel of Monroeville, Al and she was of the Baptist Faith. She was also preceded in death by the father of her son, Ira Kathel Griffin, Sr., two sisters, Nora Belle Dumas Donaldson and Pauline Grace Dumas Daniels, two brothers, David “Buck” Dumas and James “Monkey” Dumas. Annie was much loved by her family and had a great sense of humor. She was very family oriented and loved giving to and caring for her family and friends. She was most proud to say she had three grandchildren that were the light of her life and being able to hold the first born grandson. She had a love of poetry and also wrote poems for all occasions.

Survivors include her husband, Dallas Youngblood, Jr. of Monticello; one son, Ira Kathel Griffin, Jr. of Saldotna, Alaska; two brothers, Reuben S. Dumas of Green Hill and William P. Dumas of Monroeville, AL; two grandsons, Ira Kathel Griffin, III and Asher Bryce Griffin; one granddaughter, Maybel Grayce Griffin; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
