Carolyn Grubbs Hancock, 97, of Conway died Sunday, May 25, 2014 in her home, surrounded by her daughters’ love and care. She was born February 5, 1917 in Lacey, AR to the late Nathaniel Greene Grubbs and Ida Belle Knowles Grubbs. A lifelong Methodist, she was a homemaker and family caregiver who lived most of her life in Monticello, where she was a life member of Monticello Jr. Auxiliary and Chapter AB PEO. She moved to Conway in 1996 and continued her love of her church at Conway First United Methodist Church and the Gussie Scales Sunday School class, Chapter CA PEO, Twentieth Century Club, and bridge groups. Her family is blessed with countless Nana memories and lessons, as her hobbies included lifelong learning, gardening, needlework, cooking, and playing bridge, but mostly she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and constant gardener. The family would like to express deep appreciation to all who touched her life with caregiving, including Dr. John Smith, her caregivers, and the staff of Arkansas Hospice.

Carolyn is survived by her two daughters, Hilda Malpica and husband Larry of Conway, Becky Crossett and husband Harry of Batesville, Arkansas; grandchildren, Lauren Horton and husband Tim of Auburn, Alabama, Allison Holton and husband Curt of Atlanta, Georgia, Sarah Catherine Erstine and husband Jon of Maumelle, Scott Crossett and wife Lisa of Rogers, and Leah Crossett Cook and husband Nathan of Jonesboro; great-grandchildren, Caroline Horton, Alex Holton, Jackson Horton, Audrey Holton, Ryan Cook, Amelia Erstine, John Michael Erstine, and Taylor Crossett, brothers, Calvin E. Grubbs and wife Audie of Garland, Texas and Kelley D. Grubbs of Monticello, Arkansas.

Memorial service will be at the Conway First United Methodist Church at 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2014. Interment will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2014 at the Oakland Cemetery in Monticello.
