Michael Devon Marter, 57 of Monticello passed away, December 22, 2014 at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. He was born in Monticello, May 12, 1957 to Robert “Buddy” Marter and Ruby Vance Marter.

He was a retired mechanic from Burlington Industries and of the Assembly of God faith.

Survivors include his wife of thirty-nine years, JoAnn Barnett Marter; two daughters, Andrea Marter Proffitt and husband Jesse of Benton and Jada Rayford of Monticello; his son, Arron Barnett and wife, Lana of Hawaii; his parents, Buddy and Ruby Marter of Collins; two sisters, Patricia Morris and husband Carl of West Monroe, LA and Melissa England and husband Ronald of Osceola; one granddaughter, Gavinee Marter of Benton; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 26 at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with burial in Rash Cemetery. Visitation will be on hour prior to service time. Online guestbook www.stephensondearman.com.
