Welcome

I am a Veteran.Dr. Robert "Bobby" H. Burch, Jr.
August 22, 1959 - January 30, 2015

A celebration of the life of Dr. Robert “Bobby” Henry Burch, Jr. will be held on February 1, 2015, at 2pm at the First United Methodist Church of Monticello, Arkansas.

Bobby was born August 22, 1959 in Memphis, TN to Joan McClain Burch and Dr. Robert Henry Burch, Sr. He lived at Fort Ord, CA, where Dr. Burch, Sr. was a member of the Army’s Dental Corps before the family moved to Monticello, AR in 1965. He graduated from Monticello High School in 1977.

Bobby had many loves in his lifetime, including dentistry, duck hunting, having breakfast with friends at the “Coffee Shop,” the Army, and bragging on his kids to anyone who would listen. Most of all, he loved being married to the love of his life, LeAnne Pittman Burch, for more than 31 years.

Bobby graduated from Hendrix College in Conway, AR in 1981, and obtained his Doctorate in Dental Sciences in 1985 from the University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences in Memphis, TN. He and LeAnne married on July 24, 1983 in DeWitt, AR. He joined the Army’s Dental Corps in 1985 and she joined the Army’s Judge Advocate General’s Corps in 1986. They made treasured friends and memories as they traveled the world together. He continued to support her in the U.S. Army Reserves and was most proud when she was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General in 2012.

Bobby left the Army in the rank of Major in 1998, and he and his family moved to Monticello, AR to take over the dental practice of his father, Dr. Robert H. Burch, Sr. As of January, 2015, a Burch has been practicing dentistry in Monticello, AR for 50 years.

Bobby is survived by his wife, LeAnne Pittman Burch, of Monticello, AR, his children Dr. (CPT) Robert “Trey” Henry Burch, III of Fort Bliss, TX, and Katelyn Burch Busby (husband William) of Little Rock, AR, and his sisters, JoLynne Burch Youngblood (husband Stan) of Camden, AR and Patti Burch Westenberger of Maumelle, AR. He also leaves beloved nieces and nephews on both the Pittman and Burch sides, who very much adored their “Uncle Bob.”

During his lifetime, Bobby served proudly on the Monticello School Board, was a Paul Harris Rotary Fellow, and a member of Monticello’s First United Methodist Church. Bobby leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a zest for life, and a long list of treasured friends that will forever be touched by his unselfish and kind heart.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bobby’s memory to the First United Methodist Church, 317 South Main Street, Monticello, AR 71655, or the Monticello Schools Foundation, PO Box 1496, Monticello, AR 71657. A private committal service will be held in Oakland Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements by Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home, Inc. Online guestbook www.stephensondearman.com .
