Wanda Lou Britton Watson, 81 of Selma passed away Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. She was born December 30, 1933 in Hayti, MO to the late Hugh Gordon Britton and Naomi Patterson Britton. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Joe Britton and James Britton; one sister, Laura Ruth Averett.
She was a homemaker, a Christian and attended Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Wanda was a wonderful seamstress, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She devoted her life to taking care of her family.
Survivors include her husband of fifty-nine years, Paul Watson of Selma; one son, Kenny Watson and wife, Annette of Selma; one daughter, Dr. Paula Watson of Nashville, TN; one brother, Edward Britton and wife, Brenda of Little Rock; two sisters, Mary Carson and husband, Jerry of McGehee and Sue Brown and husband, Len of Denham Springs, LA; two grandsons, C.J. Watson and wife Sara of Monticello and Ryan Watson and wife, Lindsey of Monticello; three great-grandsons, Will Watson, Tanner Watson and Talin Watson; one great-granddaughter, Jordan and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be 10:00 am Wednesday, February 11, 2015 Shady Grove Missionary Baptist with burial to follow in Tillar Cemetery.
