Norma Murders Chapman
August 21, 1938 - June 4, 2015

Norma Lee Murders Chapman, age 76, of the Beulah Community, near Monticello, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, June 4, 2015. She was born in Bluffton, AR on August 21, 1938 the third of eleven children of Alford and Mary Fisher Murders.

Norma was a faithful and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, employee and friend. She was an avid gardener, talented floral designer and wonderful cook. She loved being outdoors working in her many gardens, tending to numerous flower beds, and playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She especially enjoyed spending time with all her family.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, J.D. Murders, R.V. Murders, O.C. Murders and A.V. Murders.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of fifty-seven years, Walter S. Chapman of Beulah; one son, Rev. John Chapman and wife Joyce of Houston, Arkansas; one daughter, Valerie Carter and husband Dr. Barry of Vivian, Louisiana; four grandchildren, Rev. Micah Carter and wife Julie of Magnolia, Aaron Chapman and wife Elisa of Greenbriar. Jessica Chapman of Houston, Arkansas and Ryan Carter of Ruston, Louisiana; three great-grandchildren with the fourth on the way. Also, three sisters, Mattie Rawson and husband George of Dumas, Bonnie Ingle of Cornerville and Erma Lephiew and husband Thomas of Star City; three brothers, Albert Murders and wife Gerene of Jennings, Oklahoma, Robert Murders and wife Cindy of Woodlawn and Keith Murders and wife Betty of Russellville; as well as several nieces, nephews and other family members.

The family would like to thank the staffs of the CCU and 9th floor Baptist Health Medical Center and Drs. Shane Kimball and Gary Collins. Deepest thanks to the staff, nurses, caregivers and chaplain of Hospice Home Care of Monticello for their compassionate care. Also, loving appreciation to special cousins John and Nadine Connard.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 8, 2015 at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with her son-in-law Dr. Barry Carter and her grandson, Rev. Micah Carter officiating. Burial will follow in L.B. Chapman Family Cemetery in Beulah. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday night at the funeral home.
