Caroline Green
August 25, 1950 - October 27, 2015

Caroline Ann Green, 65 of Monticello passed away October 27, 2015 at Belleview Nursing and Rehab Facility in Monticello. She was born August 25, 1950 in Drew County, AR, to the late Eddie Sawyer and Thona Daniel Sawyer.

She attended Drew High School of Monticello, where she was Valedictorian and attended college for some years before successfully serving as homemaker where she devoted most of her time and energy while her husband operated the family business, Columbus Green Pulpwood and Logging. Her interests included family, sewing, singing and playing the piano. She was an active member of Holmes Chapel Presbyterian Church, and served in the Adult Choir along with the Seasoned Saints, and the Presbyterian Women.

On June 5, 1969, Caroline united in holy matrimony to her loving husband, Columbus Green. Her family and community will always remember her as a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend. She loved her family and people and served as a support to everyone who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, L’Edward Sawyer and Robert Roy Sawyer and two sisters, Lula Bell Colbert and Alice Mae Wilson, and one son, Steven A. Green.

Joining her husband, she leaves to cherish her memories, two sons, Johnathan E. Green of Monticello, AR and Henry Green of Little Rock, AR; three daughters, Chloe White of Conway, Charlotte Green and Sandra (Stanley) Giles, both of Little Rock, AR; two brothers, Thomas Sawyer of Crossett, AR and Bertis (Gracie) Sawyer of Monticello, AR; four sisters, Mary Childress of Crossett, AR; Carolyn Simmons, Cheryl Wilson, and Barbara (Bruce) Wesley all of Detroit, Michigan, 16 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and a plethora of relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 11:00 am Tuesday, November 3 at Holmes Chapel Presbyterian Church with visitation an hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. Arrangements by Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home. Online guestbook www.stephensondearman.com.
