June 4, 1953 - November 27, 2015

Charles “Charlie” Labon McKinstry, age 62 of Wilmar, AR went to be with The Lord on Friday, November 27, 2015. He was born June 4, 1953 in Warren, AR to the late John Labon, Jr. and Dorothy Faye Milburn McKinstry.

He served our country in the United States Marine Corps as an MP from 1968-1972. He was a construction worker for over 40 years and a member of the Corinth Baptist Church. He enjoyed working, fishing, coon hunting, riding back roads and most of all, sitting and watching the river at Ozment Bluff, hence his nickname, “River Rat”.

Charles was survived by his wife of 43 years, Yvonne Rawls McKinstry whom he married on November 24, 1973; two sons, Tracy Rawls and wife Tonya and Carlton (PJ) McKinstry both of Wilmar; three daughters, Stacey Grice of Warren, Jessica Noel and husband Joey of Wilmar and Jenny Forrest Cokely of Monticello; one brother, Richard McKinstry and wife Deborah of Pine Bluff; five sisters, Shirley Stover and husband Larry of Woodlawn, Debra Lawson and husband Jerry of Ackerman, MS, Trish Ferguson and husband Ken of Nesbitt, MS, Ann Hoover and her late husband Paul of Monticello and Denise Lisenbey of Tucson, AZ; one aunt, Joe Ann Gavin of Star City; one uncle, Ray Milburn of Redfield and other family and friends; nineteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at the Valley Cemetery with military honors. Visitation 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
