February 27, 1936 - December 12, 2015

Billy John Moore, age 79 of Monticello, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Chapel Woods Health and Rehab in Warren, AR. He was born February 27, 1936 in Drew County, AR to the late John C. Moore and Lizzie Touchstone Moore. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his first wife, the mother of his children, Pat Roberts Moore; and his brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Sallie Moore.

He was a retired farmer and cattleman, lifelong member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church, United States Army National Guard Veteran and a 1953 graduate of Selma High School. Billy was also a 32nd Degree Mason of Eureka Lodge #40 and member of the Sahara Shrine and Scottish Rite.
He was a member of the Drew County Cattlemen’s Association, Saline and Ouachita Valley Livestock Association and member of the Selma Volunteer Fire Department. Billy served on the Drew County Farm Supply Board of Directors for 40 years, the Selma School Board and later the Drew Central School Board for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Miles Henley Moore of Mt. Tabor; two sons, Michael Moore and wife Tina of Mt. Tabor and Allen Moore and wife Rhonda of Sherwood; one daughter, Leigh Anne Wilmoth and husband Clark of Mt. Tabor; one stepson, Jeff Henley and wife Markuetta; one stepdaughter, Suzanne Norris of Pickens; fourteen grandchildren, Derick, Kara, Sydney, Olivia, Aidan, Ella Claire, Ava Beth, Billy, Tommy, Miles, Jessica, Alisha, Alex and Marybeth; nine great-grandchildren; two nephews, Edwin Moore and Robert Moore; along with many other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Mt. Tabor Methodist Church with Rev. Walt Lowe and Rev. Jake Lindsey officiating. Burial will follow in Mt Tabor Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home. Memorial may be made to the Mt.
