Christon L. Sheets

Christon Laron Sheets 20, was born November 13, 1997 at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello, AR. to Shavon James and Carlos Sheets. He departed this life to rest on November 15, 2017, at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello, AR.

Chris attend both Monticello and Drew Central School districts. He excelled in athletics in their basketball, football and baseball, often player of the week in the local newspaper. He also excelled in the band programs, making 1st chair band as a drummer for several years. Even though he was young, Chris was never afraid of hard work, He started out working with his dad for summers digging roots from sun up to sun down at a very young age. He was employed with Tiny Thai Place in Monticello, then employed with Magnolia Fleering in Hamburg, AR. and recently working as a construction contractor building homes. He was excellent with his hands and creative. He was an entrepreneur in his own right from early childhood.

Chris was a member of the Great I Am Temple under the leadership of Pastor Ruby Wilson, where he served many years as a drummer and singer. Chris also loved to hunt, killing his first deer at five years of age. He always killed at least one deer each year thereafter. Raising dogs was his passion, pit bulls was the dog of dogs in his eyes. From pee wee to high school Chris loved sports and was very competitive and skilled, wanting to be the best at whatever he put his mind to. Which extended to his cousins, generating his energy to always win beating pants off them. He was honest in his convictions, when his mind was made up there was no changing it.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Shirley Sheets, great grandparents Charles and Nettie Sheets, Ollie Beatrice Avery and Willie Lee Tilman, his maternal great-grandparents Adam and Maxine Stanley, Lexi Hicks Stanley and Ebenezer James, Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his girlfriend Misty Pamplin and unborn child of Monticello, AR; his mother, Shavon James of Monticello; his father Carlos Sheets of Wilmar; his sisters, ShanKendra James of Monticello, AR. and Kiara Sheets of Little Rock, his brother, Blakely Block of Monticello; his grandparents Nancy (James) Williams of Monticello; Rev. Ebenezer James, Jr. of Hamburg, Cal Sheets of Wilmar; great grandmother, Lillie Mae James of Monticello; his aunts, Velinda (Curtis) Woodard, Marsie Walker both of Monticello, Jennifer (Reggie) Parks of Pine Bluff, Kywanda (William) Hines of Warren; his uncles, Melvin James of Jacksonville and Garrett Sheets of Wilmar; one niece Jazzlynn Johnson of Monticello and several great aunts and uncles and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with burial to follow in Gethsemane Cemetery. Online guestbook www.stephensondearman.com.
