Anna Jo Palmer Rash, age 93, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. She was born on April 29, 1924 to parents Charles and Lona Palmer. She was the last surviving sibling from a family of 15 children. Anna Jo grew up in Monticello where she met Lewis Carlton Rash in elementary school. During World War II, Anna Jo worked for Western Union as a telegraph operator. She then became a secretary at Lake Village Baptist Church, a position she would enjoy for over 25 years. After the death of her husband in 1988, she returned home to Monticello to be close to family members. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved the Lord and was a faithful member of the Second Baptist Church. She was also an active volunteer with the hospital auxiliary as a candy striper and loved gardening, walking and playing dominoes and cards with friends.

Mrs. Rash is survived by her sons, Bob Rash and his wife Sue of Arlington, Texas; Paul Rash of Prairieville, Louisiana; Hez Rash and his wife Scherrie of Conway, Arkansas; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
