John Wayne Block 59, of Little Rock, AR, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Baptist Health. He was born June 18, 1954 in Monticello, AR to the late James Block and Willie Bell Douglas-Block.

At an early age he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was of Baptist faith.

He was employed by SeaArk Boating Company for several years. He was a kind, gentle, optimist, wise, well preserved, compassion, independent, loyal, and very respectful. He was a loving father to his children, brother to his siblings, a devoted uncle to his nieces and nephews, and a caring cousin, sharing with them many inspirational life experiences. He was loved so much by his family and friends and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He leaves to mourn one daughter Shannon Block, of Monticello, two sons Richard Block, of Monticello, and John Block, Jr., of Eau Clare, WI, seven grandchildren, Nadriona, Na’Shantia, Nortavian Girtman, Re’Kena Block, Sophie Block, Markieth Philippi, and Desmond Trok, nine sisters, Rosa Scott of Little Rock, Virginia Binns, Gail Block, Linda Block, Lula Haden (Henry), Mae Jane Block, and Minnie Rhodes, all of Monticello, Ethel Mills (Jeremiah) of Dumas, Patricia Buckhanan (Rynadle) of Pine Bluff, Ervin Block, of Monticello, Harold Block (Jewell), of Lacey, Otis Block (Ida) of Dumas.
