Dorothy Ann Phillips, 79, of Monticello passed away March 11, 2014, at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. She was born on Oct. 5, 1934, to the late Jasper Phillips and the late Lillie Bell Banks-Phillips in Lacey, AR.

She started working for Drew Memorial Hospital in the early 1950’s as a CNA and retired in 1994 as a dietician. She later came out of retirement to work 17 years for the Monticello Social Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jasper and Lillie Bell Phillips, a brother, Osman Phillips, a sister, Margaret Hubbard, a son, Melvin Phillips and a granddaughter, Safonda Phillips.

She leaves to cherish her memories, three sons, Michael Phillips of Milwaukee, WI, Bennett Lee Phillips, and Steve (Jennifer) Phillips, both of Monticello, AR; three daughters, Amanda (George) Matthews and Darlene Veasey-Johnson, both of Monticello, AR, and Maxine White of Kansas City, KA; two sisters, Mozelle Jacobs and Alpha Ambrose of Monticello; one daughter-in-law, Brenda Phillips of Monticello, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
