Charles F. Dearman, Sr.
Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer

Charlie Dearman serves as president and funeral director of Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home. He is married to the former Laura Lee Stephenson. He graduated from Warren High School; graduated from Arkansas A&M College, now the University of Arkansas at Monticello; and is a graduate of Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science.

Charlie's professional associations include: former Chairman of Arkansas Burial Association Board, former Chairman of Arkansas State Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors, member and Past-President of Southeast Arkansas Funeral Directors Association, member of the National Funeral Directors Association, serves as Drew County Coroner, and was the 1993 Arkansas Funeral Director of the Year.

Charlie has been involved in many civic endeavors: member of the Monticello Parks Commission, former member and two term Past-President of the Monticello School Board, former Past-President of the Monticello Drew County Chamber of Commerce, former Drew County Sheriff, former member of the Monticello City Council, former President of the Monticello Jaycees, and was selected as one of Arkansas' Ten Outstanding Young Men.

Charlie and Laura Lee have two sons, Chuck and wife Cindy of Monticello, and David of Bentonville, Arkansas and Monticello, Arkansas. They have three grandchildren, Haley Dearman, Charles F. "Chad" Dearman III, and Alexandra "Alex" Dearman. They are members of First United Methodist Church.



Charles T. "Chuck" Dearman, Jr.
Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer

Charles T. “Chuck” Dearman, Jr. serves as vice-president and general manager of Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home, Inc. and is a licensed funeral director and embalmer. He is a life-long resident of Monticello, graduated with honors from Monticello High School, graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Arkansas at Monticello, and earned an MBA degree in Accounting from Louisiana Tech University. He is a graduate of Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science where he was named Valedictorian and President of his class, and received the Outstanding Student award (Bill Pierce Award).

Chuck is also co-owner of Dearman Companies, Inc. and Monticello Monument Company. His professional associations include: member and Past-President of the Arkansas Funeral Directors Association, member and Past-President of the Southeast Arkansas Funeral Directors Association, member of the National Funeral Directors Association, member of the Board of Directors for Selected Funeral & Life Insurance Company, and member of Union Bank Board of Directors.

Chuck's community services include: fifteen year member and two-term Past-President of the Monticello School Board, Past-President of the Drew County United Way, former member of the UAM Advisory Board of Directors, former member of the Monticello Rotary Club, member of Monticello’s Twenty For The Future organization, and former member of the Monticello Drew County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. He was appointed in 2008 by Governor Mike Beebe to the Arkansas Judicial Discipline Commission, was 1999 Drew County Chamber of Commerce Man of the Year and 1996 Drew County Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year. The Arkansas Funeral Directors Association recently awarded Chuck its 2014 Arkansas Funeral Director of the Year at their annual convention in Hot Springs.

Chuck and his wife, the former Cindy Eubanks of Monticello, have a daughter, Haley, and a son, Charles F. “Chad” Dearman, III. Haley is an account executive with Arkansas Business Publishing Group in Little Rock and Chad is a recent graduate of the University of Arkansas and plans on becoming the fifth generation to enter the family business. They are members of First United Methodist Church, where Chuck has served as an administrative Board Member and Chairman of Pastor Parish Relations Committee.



Larry Scogin
Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer

Larry Scogin is a life-long resident of Monticello, Arkansas since 1947. He graduated from Monticello High School in 1965 and attended Arkansas A&M College, now the University of Arkansas at Monticello. He attended Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science and graduated in 1975.

Larry served our country from 1967 to 1971 during the Vietnam War under the U.S. Air Force military branch and has been employed by Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home since 1972. He serves as Drew County Deputy Coroner.

Larry is married to Ann Scogin. He has three sons, Lance, Brian, and Adam, four grandchildren, and two step grandchildren. He is a member of First United Methodist Church.



Martha Huffman
Secretary, Bookkeeper and Video Producer

Martha joined the staff of Stephenson-Dearman Funeral home, March, 2010. Born and raised in Virginia, Martha graduated from Appomattox County High School in 1973. After her marriage in 1977, Martha and her family moved to Arkansas and eventually to Monticello in 1980. She was a Ministry Assistant at First Baptist Church, Monticello for 12 years.

Martha has two children, Jason Huffman of San Diego, CA; A.J. Huffman of Monticello, AR, and one grandson, Drew. She is a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. In her spare time, she enjoys working in the church and community, desk-top publishing, and motorcycle riding.



Jimmy Hill
Licensed Funeral Director, Insurance Sales

Jimmy Hill was born in 1946 and was raised in the Selma community in Drew County. He graduated from Drew Central High School in Monticello in 1965 and attended Arkansas A & M College, now the University of Arkansas at Monticello. Jimmy served our country during the Vietnam War as a teletype specialist in the U.S. Army.

Jimmy worked for Safeway Grocery Chain from 1966 to 1996 and has been actively involved in the Monticello community. Since his retirement from Safeway, Jimmy has been with Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home, where he continues to help and minister to all people in need.

Jimmy and his wife, the former Donna VanCleave, have two children, and five grandsons. They are members of First Baptist Church. Jimmy is known in the community for baking wonderful homemade pies and cakes.
