To the Cavaness family: I first met Mike when I was 12 years old, and he was 22. I lived across the Winchester Road fro Mr. Cavaness, Sr. Mike was someone I looked up to. He always treated me as a friend. I have seen Mike a few times whenever I was in monticello, but I haven't been in a while. I am praying for you! I just lost my wife this January 13. Mike was a great guy and we really need more of his type of good,

So sorry to hear of Mike's passing. We were boys together on West Gaines Street. I would stop by the Court House to visit when I was in town. He was what a man was supposed to be. I have lost a good friend. My deepest Sympathy to the family.
