Ruth Jones Roberts

Ruth Jones Roberts, age 94 of Crossett, formerly of Monticello where she lived for 83 years, passed away Friday, May 18, 2018 at Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett. She was born October 2, 1923 in Drew County, AR to the late Ercil Jones and Willie Mae Wright Jones.
She was the widow of Derwood Roberts, retired from Burlington Industries and was of the Assembly of God faith. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by five brothers, Cecil Jones, Dewey Jones, Grady Jones, Eddie Mack Jones and Bobby Ray Jones; and two sisters, Winnie Rodgers and Louise Fincher.
Survivors include one son, Merchel Roberts and wife Becky of Crossett; one grandson, Merchel "Bo" Roberts, Jr. of Crossett; two granddaughters, Tasha Mason and Chandra Roberts both of Crossett; three great-grandchildren, Haley Burrow of Magnolia, Brock Burrow and wife Diana of Tampa, FL and Jake Roberts of Conway; one brother, Melton Jones of Monticello; three sisters, Wessie Funderburk and Dollie Moore both of Little Rock and Shirley Stone of Monticello; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 20, 2018 at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with burial to follow in Lacey Cemetery. Visitation 1:00-2:00 p.m. Sunday prior to service time. Online guestbook at www.stephensondearman.com.
