Maurice "Mack" McKeown
December 30, 1911 - April 22, 2010
Maurice Mead McKeown, age 98 of Monticello passed away Thursday, April 22, 2010 at the Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello, AR. He was born in Lincoln County, AR on December 30, 1911.
Mr. McKeown was in the retail, furniture and appliance business for 58 years and was a member of the First Assembly of God Church where he served on the ushers committee. He was a graduate of Drew Central High School and attended Arkansas A&M College (now UAM) for two years.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1942-1946 having served in the Battle of the Bulge. His hobbies included hunting, gardening and traveling along with spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include one son Mike McKeown, and wife Shirley of Monticello; two grandchildren Chris McKeown, and wife Chrissy, of Tulsa, OK; Melanie Belford, and husband Keith, of Gentry, AR; four great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Bryce, Samuel and Abigail.
