Robert "Bubba" Freddie Wright
March 20, 1951 - August 25, 2021

Robert (Bubba) Freddie Wright, age 70 of Monticello, went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 25, 2021, on the 45, surrounded by his family and friends. He was born March 20, 1951, in Monticello, to the late Lyle Freddie (LF) Junior Wright and Opal Marie Anders Wright. He was a member of Rose Hill Freewill Baptist Church.
Bubba served in the National Guard and was a retired owner/operator of Bubba Wright Trucking. His CB handle was Half Gallon.
Bubba enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved nothing better than having his children and grandchildren stop by to visit or grill some steaks. His grandchildren meant the world to him, and he shared his love of raising cows with them. He enjoyed taking them to check on the cows and teaching them to drive on the gravel road. Bubba instilled in them the same love and pride for the 45 that he and the rest of his family shared.
He was one of a kind and was proud to let people know he was known nationwide. With his quick witty humor, if you ever needed a good laugh, he was the person to see. Bubba loved to socialize and never met a stranger. One of his favorite hobbies was playing cards. Anyone who had ever been to his house had probably played at least one game of I Got It, and would know his favorite Conway Twitty song was Hello Darlin. When he was younger, he was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of the Wilmar Hunting Club and Big F Hunting Club. He liked to attend the Ducks Unlimited Banquet with Shawn, Shana, and Cara.
Bubba was preceded in death by his father, LF Junior Wright, mother, Opal Wright, and a brother Cecil Wright.
He is survived by his loving children: son, Shawn (Jana) Wright, daughter, Shana (Stacy) Wilson, daughter by choice, Cara Harris, and his grandchildren, Taylor (Heath) Swain, Seth and Elizabeth Wilson, Dustin Barnett, Dakota Wright, and Caralyne Donaldson, and one great-grandson, Beaux Swain. He is also survived by one brother, Gerald (Sandra) Wright, a very special sister in law, Mary Wright, and a very special lifelong friend, Mike West.
The world will be a little dimmer without Bubbas vibrant personality; however, as he said himself, he was going to be with Jesus. The love that he shared and the lessons that he taught his children and grandchildren will last a lifetime.
A special thanks to Dr. Fakouri, his staff, and Home Health for the care that he was given.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with burial in Oakland Cemetery. There will be a visitation one hour preceding the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Memorials may be given to Rose Hill Free Will Baptist Church. Online guestbook at www.stephensondearman.com.
