Henry Ray Williams
April 28, 1934 - January 11, 2022

Henry Ray Williams, age 87 of Dermott, AR, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at his home. He was born April 28, 1934, in Dumas, AR to the late Andrew Oscar Williams, Sr. and Vida Alice Ogden Williams. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Andrew Oscar Williams, Jr.; and a sister, Melba Joy Williams Whitehead.
He was a retired carpenter and glove maker at Wells Lamont in McGehee, AR. Mr. Williams was a United States Army Veteran and member of Aulds Baptist Church in Portland, AR where he was pastor for 32 years. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, restoring old cars, gardening and growing flowers but carpentry was his passion. He was very meticulous about his work and was very particular in his finished products. Mr. Williams served the Lord as an ordained minister most of his life. The churches he pastored include Tichnor Baptist Church, Anderson Chapel Baptist Church in Dumas, Ladelle Baptist Church, Temple Baptist Church in Dumas which he built and most recently, Aulds Baptist Church of Portland.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dorothy Erwin Williams of Dermott; two daughters, Debra Rae Lynn and husband Kenny and Sharon Delane Pamplin and husband Ronny; a sister, Frances Lou Hunter of Texas; a brother, Andrew Ogden Williams of Halley; five grandchildren, Leigh Wallin, Amanda Irons, Sara Lynn, Kendall Lynn and Skyler Gill; eleven great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 14, 2022, at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with Rev. Andy Williams and Rev. Aaron Williams officiating. There will be a visitation one hour preceding the funeral service from 12:00 â€" 1:00 p.m. Burial will be Old Union Cemetery in Drew County.
