Vernon Everett Cox
May 13, 1954 - May 4, 2025

Vernon Everett Cox, age 70 of Monticello, transitioned to his new life at his home on May 4, 2025. Vernon was born on May 13, 1954, to Everett Cox and Betty Jo Edney Cox Burge in Monticello, AR. Vernon and his sister were raised by his beloved Grandma Velma Harber.
In 1973, Vernon, a Viet Nam Era veteran, joined the United States Navy to see the world. While stationed in Holy Lock, Scotland he traveled to France, Spain, Greece, and England but he made five trips to his favorite destination, Italy.
Vernon was a welder at Dassault Falcon Jet in Little Rock for 30 years. There were other welders, but Vern was ''The Welder''. On several occasions, he was asked to fabricate a special part, and then the part was taken to the engineering department for them to draw plans to match the part that Vernon had designed.
Vernon is survived by his wife of 45 years, Hilda Rash Cox; son, Ian Cox; grandchildren, Ryan Cox and Laila Cox all of Monticello; one sister, Beverly Anderson of Sheridan, AR; and several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew who lived next door, Lee Rash.
The family would like to thank special friends Jimmy Orrell and David Dorsey for their lifetime friendships and for being there for Vernon when he needed them. The family would also like to thank Arkansas Hospice for their care.
A Celebration of Life will be held at his favorite place, his home. One last time, Vernon is calling his friends and family to ''Meet me at the Curve'' at 4:00 pm Saturday, May 17, 2025. You can sign Vernon's guestbook registry on this website.
