Billy Joe Griffin, age 65 of Dumas, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at his home. He was born June 25, 1959, in Dermott, AR to the late Richard Anderson Griffin and Zola Bee Scroggins Griffin.
He was a retired United States Navy Veteran and Union Welder and was of the Baptist faith. Billy Joe loved hunting, fishing, going to Hickory Deer Camp and riding his side-by-side. He also loved his daughter's cooking. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, James Griffin, Richard Griffin and Glen Griffin; and a special aunt, Shaddy Ferrell.
He is survived by his wife, Gaynell Hall Griffin of Dumas; his children, David Christopher Griffin and wife Martha of Santa Fe, TX, Chad Marshall Griffin and wife Megan of Des Arc, AR and Shawna Griffin Edwards and husband Justin of Dumas, AR; siblings, Betty Timmons of Dumas, AR and Rose Stephens and husband Carl of Taylor, AR; and grandchildren, Victoria, Natalia and Siena Griffin, Christopher, Savannah and Analeigh Edwards, Deekin Griffin and Maya Olivia Hamilton.
Graveside services will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at 16th Section Cemetery in the Valley Community with Rev. Dub Byers officiating. There will be a visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Tuesday preceding the graveside service at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel. Serving as pallbearers are Christopher Edwards, Justin Edwards, Dakota Moring, Devlyn Moring, Bryant Delrio and Sammy E. Smith.
