Mary Ruth Terry Hawkins, age 81 of Monticello, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at her home. She was born February 19, 1944, in Dermott, AR to the late Cody M. Terry and Dorothy Ann Spakes Terry.
She was the widow of Guy Hawkins, a homemaker and member of Halley Baptist Church. Mary was a remarkable woman whose love for life shined through everything she did. She had a gift for cooking, and her kitchen was always filled with the comforting aromas of meals prepared with care. More than the food itself, Mary cherished the joy of gathering her family and friends around her table, creating moments of laughter, conversation, and togetherness.
She was always ready for adventure â€" whether it was a shopping trip, a cruise, or visiting loved ones near and far. Mary's playful spirit came alive in games of cards, evenings at bingo, nights waiting on a slot machine to hit, and hours spent working on puzzles, each activity a reflection of her lively and curious nature.
Christmas was her most treasured season. She poured her heart into decorating her home inside and out, transforming it into a festive haven. For Mary, the holiday was never just about lights and ornaments; it was about making the season magical for her family, ensuring that every Christmas was filled with warmth, beauty, and love.
Mary's life was a celebration of joy, generosity, and connection. She leaves behind a legacy of cherished traditions and unforgettable memories that will continue to inspire all who knew her. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Cody Terry; and a sister, Brenda Davis.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Kelly Patrick and husband W.L.; her son, Frank Hawkins and wife Ashley; two sisters, Charlotte Turchi and Kay Garrison and husband John; one brother, Ricky Terry and wife Glenda; sisters-in-law, Mary Barnard and husband Charlie and June Terry; her grandchildren, Diana Patrick, Charlie Rice, Chris Patrick and wife Shaylin, Scott Hawkins and wife Alli and Cole Hawkins; her great grandchildren, Wyatt Wood, Kenlyn Endsley, Chase Knowles, Gage Rice, Hadleigh Hawkins, Ryan Patrick, Daniel Patrick and Sutton Hawkins; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
