Lola Merl Nichols Graves

Lola Merl Nichols Graves, age 68 of Monticello, went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, May 18, 2026, at her home. She was born May 2, 1958, in Monticello, AR to the late Charley McCain Nichols, Sr. and Martha Brown Nichols.

She was the widow of Danny Mac Graves, a retired Day Care owner and substitute teacher and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. Lola enjoyed cooking, fishing and going to yard sales. She also loved her church activities and taking care of her grandkids. Her whole world revolved around them! In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mandy Leah Graves; two brothers, Charley Nichols, Jr. and Jamie Fore; a granddaughter, Raelynn Pearson; and a nephew, Joseph Adcock.

Survivors include four children, Garon Beau Graves, Libby Graves, Kane Graves and wife Lindsey and Kenzie Graves all of Monticello; three bonus children, Bobby Johns and wife Connie, Pamela Griffin and husband Steve Lane and Autumn Jones; siblings, Rueal Russell and wife Kay of Prattville, AL, Bodie Nichols of Monticello and Brenda Adcock and husband Pete of Monticello; grandchildren, Anna Leah, Carragan Graves, Mackayla Graves, Major Staples, Mikah Goolsby, Laikyn Graves, Knox Graves, Mackenley Graves, Remmi Pearson, Zoe Erwin, Bryleigh Erwin, Kai Erwin and Brittney Carrington; special nephews, Brandon Cox and Daniel Cox; special nieces, Jennifer Lawrence and Kelly Lewis; a special sister-in-law, Sherry Martinez and husband Troy; along with numerous other grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, May 22, 2026, at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with Rev. Alvin McMahon officiating. There will be a visitation from 2:00-3:00 p.m. preceding the funeral service at the funeral home.
