Peggy Jean Chance Roper, 82, of Greenbrier, Arkansas, passed away, Saturday, October 16, 2021, at her home in Greenbrier, surrounded by those she loved. She was born May 2, 1939, to the late Delbert and Bobbie Sue Smith Chance, in Watson, Arkansas. She was mostly raised by her grandparents J.D. and Dora Kendrick who preceded her in death.

Peggy and her husband who was also the love of her life, Dois Roper, resided between their two homes in Collins, AR, and Greenbrier, AR. They lived a true love story during their 65 years of marriage. She was retired from Wonder Bread Bakery after 23 years of service. She also was a shop owner and a beautician for several years in Watson Chapel. She was a member of Collins Baptist Church. She loved to fish as long as there were no snakes and temperatures were between 70 and 75 degrees. Below 70 was too cold and above 75 was too hot. She also loved to shop 'til she dropped and frequented antique shops and thrift stores. She was very talented and over the years she completed several craft projects where she gifted items to her family and friends. She was an excellent cook and no one ever left her home hungry unless it was done by choice.

Other than her parents and grandparents, she was proceeded in death by her youngest son John Patrick Roper.

She is survived by her husband, Dois W Roper; son, Bobby J Roper (Darlene); grandchildren, Sarah Beth Roper-Flora (Sim), Kohlten Wayne Roper, Jacob Patrick Roper, and Campbell Chance Roper. Additionally, she leaves behind her two precious Boston terriers Oliver North and Chesty Puller that she dearly loved.

The family would like to say thank you, to all that checked on her via calls, texts, and personal visits. She loved her friends and family so very much. She loved helping others and always put everyone before herself.

Services will be held at a later date.

A special thank you to all the caregivers out of the Conway branch with Hospice Home Care who have treated her with love and kindness for the past 10 months.

In lieu of flowers please submit a donation in her memory to Hospice Home Care
