Jorene Hoover Ott, age 92 of Monticello, went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, November 27, 2021, at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello, AR. She was born September 12, 1929, in Drew County, AR to the late Roie Joe Hoover and Verna Phillips Hoover.
She was the widow of Charles Ott, a retired Registered Nurse and a member of Chickasaw Baptist Church in McGehee, AR. Ott, as she was known by her peers, was a very compassionate and skilled nurse. She lovingly cared for the people of Drew County for many years with a servant's heart. However, her favorite title was ''Aunt Jo'', as she was a beloved aunt to many more than her own nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles A. Hoover.
Survivors include her sister-in-law, Billie Jean Hoover; her nephew, Chuck Hoover and wife Carolyn and her niece, Jana Edwards and husband Dan all of Monticello; Eddie Young, who she thought of as a son and wife Patty of McGehee; and her great nieces and nephews, Michele Roberts and husband David, Joy Watts and husband Matt, Josh Welch and wife Katelan and Brice Hoover and wife Kelsey all of Monticello; and great-great nieces and nephews, Kaleigh Roberts, Patton Roberts, Preston Welch, Josie Welch and Emersyn Raye Hoover all of Monticello.
Graveside services will be 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at Campground Cemetery in Drew County, AR with Bro. Chuck Hoover officiating. Please visit her guestbook page at www.stephensondearman.com.

I am so sorry to hear of Mrs. Jo's passing. What a sweet, wonderful lady. I remember when I was much younger and singing in Branson some, she would always call and ask when I was going so I could take tomatoes to her relatives who would be in town at the same time I was. Such a great memory for me. Prayers for you all during this time.
  2. Cynthia McKinstry
My thought and prayers are with your family during this time of loss for your family.

Ms. Ott was a very sweet lady. I was her home health aide for many years. We had a lot of good times together and I will cherish those moments forever. Praying God will comfort you and give you all strength during this difficult time. Rest in love sweet lady.

Ms Ott was my mother’s mentor years ago when she first became a nurse. Ms. Ott was truly a compassionate, caring, kind, gentle soul. My prayers are with her family. RIP sweet lady.

I loved Mrs Ott. I worked side by side with her for many years in the operating room. She was a wonderful friend and nurse
She enjoyed her job and she excelled at it.

Ms. Jo was a special lady to my sister & me. Only known her since she was at Bellevue but was a blessing to our family! She will be missed greatly!

Jo was one of my favorite people in the world. She is one of the reasons I became a nurse, and I had the privilege of working with her back in the day. But I loved her and her hubby. What awesome people. Loved the romance of their getting secretly married when she was in nursing school. She was one of a kind. Though I have been gone for years. I thought of them often, and fondly. I am so sorry for your loss.
