Shelton was a 1977 graduate of Monticello High School. He was a retired truck driver, former United States Army National Guardsman and a Baptist. Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Amanda Adams; and two brothers, Robert and Kenny Adams.
He is survived by one son, Thomas Adams of Marianna; one daughter, Tuesday Daugherty Staley of Little Rock; two grandchildren, Charles and Drew Staley; one brother, Greg (Ginny) Adams of Monticello; along with many dear friends and family members.
