Mark was a man of integrity, who did what needed to be done. He took care of his family and was always there for them. He was a brother, father, ''Popop'', and school teacher. He loved to walk, run and distance bike rides, once riding from McGhee to Arkansas Post for a fun Sunday morning. He loved to collect all manner of curious items. Mark was also a lifelong Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians fan. He was selfless and stubborn, and deeply loved by his family. Mark also loved music, playing guitar, and writing songs. He was a published poet. Mark had a tremendous love for his grandchildren. He was a man of the Catholic faith. Mark is survived by: a daughter Sarah Pasterniak and husband Caleb Burger, their children, Autumn Murray-Pasterniak and Norah Burger of El Dorado, a daughter Jennifer Nicolle (Nikki) Holloway and husband Bill and their children Jackson and Jagger of Austin, Texas; a sister, Nancy Ward of Little Rock; a brother David Pasterniak and wife Brenda of Shirley, Arkansas, a brother Bob Pasterniak and wife Mary of Leeland, North Carolina; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Monticello, AR Wednesday, March 9, 2022 I am so sorry to hear of Mark's passing. I worked with him at Drew Central. We both taught and drove buses. I enjoyed his quirky sense of humor. Too, he was my sister-in-law's neighbor, friend and driver. She loved Mark very much. She had a very strong personality and Mark would tell her exactly what he thought and she would meekly take his scolding her. He visited her in the nursing home and mourned her when she died. Mark was unique--never dull-- but had a tender heart. I know many whose lives he affected. My condolences to his family.Susan Cossey
