Send Flowers Send Flowers
I served in the Army.
Leron Veasey was born February 8, 1962, to the late Curtis Lee Veasey and Johnnie Maxine Stanley-Veasey. Leron transitioned to his heavenly resting place on April 10, 2022, at the VA Hospital in Little Rock, AR.
Leron accepted Christ at an early age and joined Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church where he served as Usher. He also joined the Eastern Star with the guidance of his grandmother, the late Earnestine Stanley. He continuously served the church throughout his life providing food, lawn equipment and any other materials the church needed. He was a faithful member and attended regularly despite being paralyzed. He invited many pastors to his home.
Leron was formerly married to Willie Jean Daniels. He loved his children and helped rear Emery Riley, Meko Riley, Madison and Megan Jackson. Also Kennedy Jackson, who was a devoted caregiver to Leron.
Leron was a very outspoken person who built an empire from his bed. His legacy was built on hard work, which actually caused his accident as a logger. He loved cars, of which he owned over 30! He also owned over 150 hats, clothes and many suits from his favorite store β€" Super Bad. He also had many animals (dogs, chickens, hogs, goats and horses). During his early years, Leron loved to fish, hunt and play basketball. After his accident, he loved to travel. He traveled all over the United States. He also loved a good cookout and crawfish boil. He joined the United States Army in 1980 and served his country for three years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Curtis Lee Veasey; his sisters, Shalane Denise Veasey-McCoy and Carolyn Ann Stanley; a brother, Stephen Tyrone Veasey; his paternal grandparents, Sterling Veasey and Clara Daniels Veasey; his maternal grandparents, John Lee Stanley and Earnestine Ashford Stanley.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Johnnie Maxine Cotton Veasey of Monticello; siblings, Marylin Simmons of Monticello, Melvin (Wanda) Veasey of North Little Rock, Darrell Lee Veasey of Corning, NY, Kirby (Elaine) Veasey of Monticello and Raymond Veasey of Elmira, NY; 15 nieces, 6 nephews and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be 4:30 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2022, at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel. There will be a visitation from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be in Union Ridge Cemetery. You can sign Leron's guestbook page at www.stephensondearman.com.

From a fellow veteran, thank you for your service and for your family supporting you doing so. I remember the days back in the school I would hang out at the Veasey home and in the area around there. You always had a smile on your face that I remember from school.
