Rena Nelson Simmons
November 20, 1935 - July 21, 2022

Rena Nelson Simmons, age 86, of Pine Bluff passed away Thursday, July 21, 2022. Born at Barkada (Drew County) on November 20. 1935, she was a daughter of the late Carl Nelson and Florence Bell Wright Nelson. Mrs. Simmons worked as a babysitter at Olive Street Baptist Church for several years. She enjoyed flowers and working in her yard. She was a longtime faithful member of Forrest Park Assembly of God.
On June 25, 1955, she married J. P. Simmons, and he preceded her in death on July 27, 2011. Also predeceasing her are a brother, Carl "Buddy" Nelson, and a sister, Jewel Daugherty.
Survivors include her daughter, India Simmons Ashcraft (Scott); a sister, Helen Ross (Carroll); her grandchildren, Trevor McDaniel (Bailee), Brandon Ashcraft, and Clayton Ashcraft; and her great-grandchild, Callahan McDaniel.
