Betty Ruth Durey Garrison, age 85, of Monticello, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2023, at Belle View Estates in Monticello. She was born October 1, 1937, in Rohwer, Arkansas, to the late Fletcher and Hazel (Dunemn) Durey.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by Ralph Garrison, her husband of 51 years; her brothers, Travis Durey and wife Sue, Lonzo Durey and wife Addie, Morris Durey and James Durey; as well as her sister-in-law, Liz Durey.
Betty worked as a cosmetologist for most of her adult life in Dermott, Arkansas. She was active member of Dermott Baptist Church, Dermott, and Second Baptist Church, Monticello. Her spiritual gift was service and she always followed God's will in serving her church any way she could.
She is survived by her daughter, Dawn and Tony Campagna of Monticello and son, Daniel and Jessica Garrison of Monument, Colorado; four grandchildren, David Garrison, Katelyn Campagna, Elaine Garrison, and Casey Garrison; sisters-in-law, Yurie Durey and Marleta Garrison; and Diane Vance, her best friend-sister-cousin; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
There will be a graveside service for immediate family only.
Visitation will be held at Second Baptist Church in Monticello on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at 12:30 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to the Second Baptist Church, Monticello, Building Fund. (1032 Old Warren Road, Monticello, AR 71655).
