Mary Melissa Odom, 56, died suddenly on December 11, 2023, at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello, AR.

Mary brought beauty, joy, and caring to this world throughout her life and spent that life-giving graciously of herself, touching so many along the way. After receiving her Master's Degree in Social Work at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, she moved to rural areas in the state and worked as a Clinical Social Worker, bringing her talents and skills to help others through difficult times.

Mary leaves behind to honor and cherish her memory her beloved daughter Melissa L. Wilson, constant companion Aldegundo Medrano, niece Rachel Chase Odom, mother Evelyn Chase Zolondek, sister Myra Gentile, aunt Anne Maxwell, long-time friend Kathy Collier, many loving cousins, and others whose lives she touched. She was predeceased by her father Ralph Lee Odom, beloved brother David Lyster Odom, uncle Rowland M. Hill, and great aunt Harriette Jane Clark.

There will be a Memorial Gathering for Mary at the Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home in Monticello on January 20 from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.
