Marilyn Irene Ellis McDaniel, age 71 of Monticello, AR, passed away Friday, March 15, 2024, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff, AR. She was born September 13, 1952, in Monticello, AR to the late Tommie Richard Ellis and Roxie Irene Watson Ellis.
She was retired from National Wire Company in Star City, AR, a master cook and loving wife, mother, mammy, maw sister and aunt. She loved to cook and was one of the best sweet makers around. She was the one who could bring comfort to those in bad times and enjoyed making people laugh. Spending time with her family especially her grandson, Taylor and faithfully watching Brother Tommy Bales Community Church online with her sister Sylvia. She loved being called Maw by her niece Penny's grandbabies. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Katherine Adams; three brothers, Mickey Ellis, Donald Ellis and Tommie Ellis; and two nephews, Terry McGough and Bennie Adams.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, Ted Wayne McDaniel; one son, Terry McDaniel; a grandson, Taylor McDaniel; niece, Penny Jordan; and a nephew, Tony McGough.
