Bobby Joe Hibbard, age 77 of Monticello, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2024, at his home. He was born February 1, 1947, in Dewitt, AR to the late Joe Tom Hibbard and Mabel Miller Hibbard.
He was a retired School Superintendent and a Methodist. He was a graduate of Dewitt High School, obtained his Bachelor's Degree from Arkansas State University and his Master's Degree from Ole Miss. Bobby Joe enjoyed hunting where he was a longtime member of Dewitt-St. Charles Hunting Club. He also enjoyed fishing, watching football and baseball and loved his New York Yankees and Dallas Cowboys. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 31 years, Elizabeth Ann Brawner Hibbard "Betty".
He is survived by two sons, Jody Alan Hibbard and wife Susan of Star City and Jeffery Adam Hibbard of Broken Arrow, OK; a step-daughter, Susan E. Davis Ferrell and husband Christopher of Jacksonville, FL; five grandchildren, Jonathan Hibbard, Jake Hibbard, Jared Hibbard (Allie Hill) all of Star City, Chloe Crum and Levon Davis of Jacksonville, FL; and a great-grandson, Hudson Christopher Hibbard.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Dewitt Cemetery in Dewitt, AR. There will be a visitation from 10:30-11:00 a.m. preceding the graveside service at the cemetery. You can sign Bobby Joe's guestbook registry on this page.
