Elizabeth Harris, affectionately known by many as Liz was born on January 28, 1945, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Cecelia and Billy Harris. She accepted Christ at an early age and attended Drew High School in Monticello, Arkansas.
After finishing school, Liz moved to Chicago, Illinois, where she lived until 1967. In October of that year, she relocated to Los Angeles, California. During her time in Los Angeles, she worked at Mattel Toy Company for several years and became a member of Macedonia Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Floyd Massey.
In 1986, Liz returned to Monticello, Arkansas and joined Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, where she faithfully served on the usher board. In 1989, she began working for the Monticello School District and later retired from her position after years of dedicated service.
Elizabeth Hariss was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 14, 2025. Liz brought laughter into our life with her vibrant and outspoken personality.
Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents, Cecelia and Billy Harris; her daughter, Tonya White; her son, Rodney Davis; and her brothers, Curtis Calbert, William Harris, and Billy Harris, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Tony Harris; her daughters, Donna Harris and Tracy Davis (Kinney); her sister, Mary Harris Raines (Roosevelt); her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who she dearly loved.
