Bubba was very special to us. He and Meme were the best baby sitters ever! Joshua called them his non-biological grandparents. He was a very giving person. I have- and appreciate- quite a few of his wooden art works. My mother is a Belleview resident, so when I went to visit Mom 2-3 times a week I would usually stop by to check on Bubba, too. We had some good conversations - and a few wild (loopy) conversations - over the past few months that I will always cherish. Some of them were dreams/hallucinations about him fighting military battles. He was a Marine to his very last breath. My prayers are for his family. We lost a good one.

Mr. Bickford was a friend through the years. I spent a lot of time around him when Eddie and I were running the roads of Drew County. Mr. Bickford would always stop and say hi to Mom if she was working in the yard. I thought a lot of him. David Crook
