Mrs. Jean Rhea Douglas was born on November 8,1947 in Drew County to the late Zeophis Lowe and Dequince Lewis Sr. She was raised by the late Tommy V and Jessie Mae Brown.
She confessed her hope in Christ at an early age and become a member of the previously Stranger Rest AME Church under the leadership of Rev. Daniels. She later became a member of Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church in Wilmar and was associate with Holmes Chapel Presbyterian Church.
She attended the Wilmar Public School and further her education at Pine Vocational Technical School in Pine Bluff, Ar where she received a License Practical Nursing Degree. She was initially employed at Warren Medical Center and later employed at the Area of Agency in Monticello from 1979 until her retirement in 2011.
She was married to Elmer Deshazer in 1964 which three children were born, Jessie, Feresha and LaPlos.
She married Robert Douglas in 1990which one child, Timble Dodson was born.
Mrs. Douglas was affectionately called; "Momma Jean" by many. She was a licensed Foster Parent with the Arkansas Department of Human Services, Division of Children and Families for Drew County from 1996-2003.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, LaPols Lambert and several siblings (Dequince Lewis Jr, Paulette Lewis, Carolyn, Betty Bailey and Shelia Lewis.
She leaves to cherish her memory, Four Daughters, Jessie Deshazer, Feresha Deshazer of Monticello, Timble Dodson of Tulsa Ok, and Belinda Powell of La Vegas NA,
Siblings, Jacqueline Lowe, Patricia Lowe, Laurie Henderson (Brady)-Thurman all of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Paulette Lewis & Carolyn Jackson of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, one brother, Bobby Lowe of Milwaukee Wisconsin.
Grandchildren; Jason (Jennifer) Deshazer of Dallas, Texas, Donald (Hannah) Deshazer of Spokane Washington, Lundon Deshazer of Pine Bluff, Shada McWilliams of Little Rock, Ar and Ayanna Jones, Lakayla Jackson, Lakedra Warner, Alandria Lambert all of Monticello, Ar.
Great grandchildren, Dylan, Jordyn, Keshawn, Jaiden, Donavon, Ari, Jase, Aliana, Johnathan, Haven, Aaron Jr, Edengrace, Chasten and Casmin.
Two special friends, Denise Beasley of Monticello, Ar and Peggy Orr of Wilmar, Ar. 1 special niece Sandreale Brown of Monticello. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends,
Visitation Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. in the Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel. Funeral Services will follow at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Repass will be at Holmes Chapel Presbyterian Church. You can sign Mrs. Jean's guestbook here on her page.
