Edward's parents moved from Wilmar to Selma when he was a young boy, spending most of his life there. He was a Christian of the Baptist faith. He was a retired log scaler for Selma Timber Company and maintenance supervisor with SeaArk Boats. Edward was an avid hunter and fisherman and could catch a fish out of a mud hole. He fished in many bass tournaments and also loved doing crafts, gardening, working in his yard, and building things such as bird houses, deer stands and furniture.
Edward was a hard worker always providing for his family. However, his greatest love was his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Hill and Miles Spencer Hill; and three sisters, Geraldine Johnson, Lorine Curtis and Gloria Elton.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Bernice Bostian Hill of Monticello; two daughters, Stacey Owens and husband Randy and Gail Trantham and husband Trae all of Monticello; three grandsons, Hank Hill of Monticello, Jesse English and wife Caitlin of Pleasant Pains, AR, Cole Dickinson and wife Mackenzie of Monticello; two granddaughters, Alisha Engelkes and husband Nick of Monticello, and Emily Davis and husband Patrick of Hamburg; five great grandchildren, Emilia Engelkes, Owen Thomas English, Scout Davis, Evy Engelkes and Jude English; one brother, Jimmy Hill and wife Donna of Monticello; two sisters, Wanda Odom of Monticello and Brinda Luker and husband Kenneth of Star City; along with a host of nieces, nephews, greats and great greats, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with Rev. Devin Burns and Bro. Jesse English officiating. There will be a visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery. You can sign Edward's guestbook registry on this website.

Monticello, AR Tuesday, April 8, 2025 Jimmy and Family,I am so sorry to hear of your loved one's death. I worked with him at Amfuel back in 93 & 94. We all called him Mario & he called me Cherokee. Everyone had a nickname.
He was a great co-worker, sweet, polite, & helpful, always making us laugh, & helping a 10 hour day go by faster.
I know you loved him and will miss him very much, so you are in my thoughts and prayers. May God bless and comfort you, ease your grief, & heal your broken heart. 💔 🙏
