Monticello, AR Friday, May 16, 2025 There are no words to adequately describe Coach. I worked with Edgar for many years at DC. He was a big personality, well-loved by students, staff and faculty. I am blessed to have been able to count myself among his friends. He will be sorely missed. I grieve with you, Family. There will never be another like our Coach. Prayers for comfort and peace for all who knew and loved him.Barbara Turner (Calhoun)
Montrose, AR Friday, May 16, 2025 Coach was truly an angel clothed in human skin and is flying high among other celestial beings now. I adored him and not just because he kept me from breaking my fool daredevil neck on the playground more than once way back when. I feel blessed that although my children never had him as a teacher, I did get to introduce him to all three. I take heart in knowing that he will never really be gone because so many of us will remember him with love and a smile. "They are never truly gone those that live in the hearts of others." Coach Spencer is almost immortal.Rufus Henson
Monticello, AR Friday, May 16, 2025 I played Basketball with Coach Spencer when in school at Drew Central. He was two years ahead of me if I remember correctly. We also played basketball at the old DC gym in the summertime while doing summer work. Edgar Spencer was always upbeat. As he matured and began his work in education following college, he inspired countless young students lives. The kids loved him. He was a no nonsense teacher and mentor for countless students. DC was a better place with Coach Spencer there. He touched countless lives. His memory will live on because of the dedication to DC, its students and others along his path that he interacted with. MY deepest sympathy goes out to his family and friends. While I seldom saw him, whenever I did, we would talk about the "old days" at DC and life in general. Rest in peace Brother. I'll see you on the other side one day. God will bless your soul for the good you have done on earth.Bridgett Rowlett Watson

Monticello, AR Thursday, May 15, 2025 Coach Spencer was my first bus driver, my first P.E. coach, and like many other Drew Central alumni he was an influential part of my early education. He even delivered a wooden paddle to the back pocket of my jeans a few times; well deserved of course!I hated to hear of his passing. He was a pillar of the school and community that will definitely be missed by many.

Monticello, AR Tuesday, May 13, 2025 To the family and friends of Coach Spencer,I am so sorry for your loss. Coach Spencer was a rare individual in this day and age. He was a truly GOOD man. He was a great coach & all 3 of my children loved him.
He treated everyone with kindness, respect, decency, and fairness. He was trustworthy, noble, and dignified; patiently seeking to bring out the best in his students. He was a stable influence, trustworthy advisor, and a mentor to many.
The world has lost the irreplaceable light of a man who answered the call of Christianity; a man who loved the Lord and lived his faith. He shall be truly mourned and missed by all who knew him.
I pray for God's comforting presence during this time of grief and sorrow. May He bless you and give you strength.
