Liz was retired from the Butterfield Trail Village Retirement Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was an active member of Oak Grove Assembly of God Church of Monticello until her health failed her over the last few months. Liz had a tremendous love for life and people and always carried on her foolishness with everyone she met. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend. She was defiantly one of a kind. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, George Akin and Junior Akin; one great grandson, Ashton Wright; and a sister-in-law, Pat Akin.
Liz is survived by one sister, Sarah Akin Hayes; two daughters, Jamie King of Monticello, Arkansas and Cindy Wright of Siloam Springs, AR; one step daughter, Jennifer King; grandchildren, Josh King (Kristen) of Fordyce, AR, Caleb Kings of Monticello, AR, Christopher Wright, Elizabeth Kheen, Timothy King, and Sonya King all of Siloam Springs, AR; several great grandchildren; nieces, Christie Voucher of Mississippi, Anita (Drew) Tennyson and Deneise Akin of Malvern, AR; nephews, Robert Akin of Monticello, AR and Brandon Acree; sister-in-law, Rita Akin; special friend, Benny King of Monticello; and loving friends, Opal Forrest, Diane Shivers and Candy Posey all of Monticello, AR.
Visitation will be Sunday, May 18, 2025, from 1:00 -2:00 p.m. in the Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Oakland Cemetery with Rev. Scottie Holloway officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Michael King, Christopher Wright, Jonathan Kheen, Larry Williamson, Rusty Riley, and Richard Russell.
