Flora was married to Leron ''Buck'' Binns until his death on March 1, 1999. Together they raised three daughters.
She was employed for many years at Modern Cleaners and Comet Cleaners in Monticello, AR before moving to Bedford, OH in 2003 where she was employed with the Catholic Diocese until she retired in 2014.
She was a longtime faithful member of Metropolitan AME Zion Church in Monticello, AR and later Emmanual AME Zion Church in Bedford, OH.
Flora was a very skilled seamstress and enjoyed sewing and quilting for many years. She was an avid fan of The Andy Griffith Show and always found a way to incorporate it into real life situations.
In addition to her parents and husband, Flora was preceded in death by her sisters, Vera Thompson, Linda Kay Thompson and Barbara Thompson; brothers, Alexander Thompson, Lewis Thompson, Hubert Thompson Jr.; and her niece, Martha Jones.
Flora leaves to cherish her memory her three daughters, Doris Jones (Johnny) of Huntsville, AL, Pamela Binns of Garfield Heights, OH and Tonya Binns Simmons of Bedford, OH; three grandchildren; Jessica Nicole Summers (Robert) of Toney, AL, Trevor Leron Jones (LaRhonda) of Madison, AL and Richard M. Williams of Garfield Heights, OH; four great grandchildren, Destiny Nicole Jones, Robert Bernard Summers III, Faith Elizabeth Jones and Dilyn Rose Summers; sisters, Dorothy Brooks of St. Louis, MO, Glenda Wade of San Jose, CA, Shirley Thompson of Monticello, AR, Gloria Ford (Fred) of St. Louis, MO, Palestine Henry (John) of St. Louis, MO; brothers, Melvin Thompson, Calvin Thompson of St. Louis, MO and Stacey Thompson of St. Louis, MO.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 4:00p.m. Graveside service will be at Oakland Cemetery 10:00 a.m. Saturday June 14, 2025. You can sign Flora's guestbook here on her page.
