She was a retired Drew Central School Teacher and Assistant Principal and longtime member of First Assembly of God Church. Carolyn loved her church where she, along with her husband Harold, were very active. They have volunteered for many years in numerous areas of the church, namely the Prime Timers group. She was also an avid flower gardener both indoors and outdoors. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Sue Lynn and Maxine Fortner; and one brother, LaWayne Young.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 63 years, Harold Andrews of Monticello; two sons, David Andrews and wife Michelle of Searcy and Mark Andrews and wife Diana of Monticello; her granddaughter, Catherine Andrews of Searcy; and her sister, Vonnie Arnold of Crossett.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2025, at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with Rev. Al Womack officiating. There will be a visitation Sunday evening from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sixteenth Section Cemetery in the Valley Community. Portland, AR Friday, June 6, 2025 Carolyn was more than a colleague. She became family. She and I traveled a lot of miles together both on basketball trips and family trips. She was a wonderful Christian woman who dearly loved her family. I dearly loved her. She and Mama T took care of me and Greg during all those years at Drew Central. I will truly miss her.
