Charlotte Kay Lloyd Wilson, 77, of the New Hope Community, passed away on June 14, 2025, in Little Rock, AR, surrounded by her family. Charlotte was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was known for her care for others, especially for those in her family and community. Charlotte was born in Monticello, AR, on August 25, 1947, to the late John Thomas Lloyd and Geneva Wigley Lloyd. She was a graduate of Monticello High School. In 1966, Charlotte and her husband, Larry, were married, and enjoyed a long and love-filled marriage of 58 years. Charlotte retired from the City of Monticello Water Office after 33 years. She was a member of Green Hill Baptist Church but considered Prairie Grove Baptist Church her home church. Charlotte's favorite way to show love was through her cooking, and she was known for her talent in the kitchen. She always made sure that each of her family members had their favorite dish on the table for a family meal. Charlotte loved contributing to community cookbooks, potlucks, and church homecoming meals, and she prided herself on always having homemade treats for visitors, even her Trick or Treaters. Charlotte also enjoyed quilting and dedicatedly worked to sew quilts for each of her family members. When dropping by to visit, it wasn't unusual to find her quilting over the frame Larry built her in the living room with one of Larry's favorite movies playing in the background. Charlotte also enjoyed gardening, collecting antiques, especially fine china and Fenton glass, and researching her family's genealogy, which took her and Larry on many adventures. Most of all, Charlotte loved spending time with her family.

Charlotte is preceded in death by her parents, John Thomas Lloyd and Geneva Wigley Lloyd; her brothers, John Arthur (Ossie) Lloyd, Gary Lloyd; and her daughter-in-law, Melody Knowles Wilson.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Wilson of Monticello; son, Stacy (Shana) Wilson of Monticello; daughter, Tonya (Wayne) Hudgens of Hot Springs; and her grandchildren, Elizabeth and Seth; as well as her siblings, Linda Ewell, Shirley (Robert) Miller, Danny (Lisa) Lloyd, and Randy Lloyd; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews, all of whom she loved very much.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 18, 2025, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, June 19, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in the Stephenson-Dearman Chapel. Burial will follow in Prairie Grove Cemetery. You can sign Charlotte's guestbook here on her page.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be sent to Prairie Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 905 Goose Hollow Rd., Fountain Hill, AR 71642 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, www.stjude.org.

  1. Deanna Dennis
    Shana, Stacy, Elizabeth and Seth,
I’m so sorry to hear about the passing of Mrs. Wilson. I can see her smiling face when I went into the water office to pay my bill. It was clear how much she loved her grandkids and family when I mentioned to her that I was a friend of Shana’s. I pray for comfort and peace in the days ahead.
  2. Melanie Rawls/Perry Rawls
Larry you have our condolences. Prayers to you and family
  3. Michelle Morphis
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time. I have many memories of her and will cherish those spent with her during my teen years. She was the first to scare me about swallowing watermelon seeds (haha). One thing is for sure, we always ate well and Uncle Larry helped her in the kitchen as well. Sending much love and comfort during this difficult time.

It will be difficult days for you and we certainly would be there if we could, but you know we just got back to the Kansas City area from Hot Springs last night. You’ve had a hard week for sure. We will be thinking of you tonight and tomorrow during the service. Although we won’t be there physically we will be with you in spirit! Love to you, Kathy & Phil Gladden

Larry and family, I am so sorry to hear of Charlotte's passing. She was a beautiful lady with a good heart. She always had a sweet smile & friendly word for everyone.
I hated going to the water office after she retired. She was so good at that job. The world is a dimmer place without her bright personality.
