I served in the Army.
Benny Ray King, age 89 of Monticello, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Baptist Health Drew County. He was born December 20, 1935, in Monticello, AR to the late Smead Powell King and Hazel Bond King. Benny was a skilled carpenter and a United States Army Veteran. He was a very active member of Oak Grove Assembly of God where he served for many years as Deacon. His church was his passion. He loved his riding lawnmower and often mowed for others at no charge. Benny was also lovingly dedicated to his children.

In addition to his parents, Benny was preceded in death by a daughter, Theresa Fern King; his second wife, Vanita King; six siblings, Avilia Pharr, Martha Chapman, Robert King, Eva Lopez, Marquerite Dickinson, and Myrtle King; and his previous wife, Billie Fern Reinhart.

He is survived by one son, Dr, Lewis R. King of Dallas, TX; a daughter, April Rae King of White Hall, AR; granddaughter, Meghan Rae Berry; and three great grandchildren, Emma Rae Berry, Brick Berry, Andrey Ray Berry; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held Monday, June 30, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in the Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with Rev. Terry Newman officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery.
