He was a retired UAMS Postmaster and was of the Southern Baptist faith. He loved to spend time in bible study/research and prayer. His favorite part of the week was Sunday online service with David Jeremiah. James and his dog, Sadie, wore out two recliners sitting together, watching golf and playing games on his tablet. He loved his daily and weekly phone calls with his sisters, daughter and son. He would often get a new recipe from his sisters and bring his leftovers to family to try. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Bessie Reba Jones Barber and husband J.W. Barber, Willie Mae Jones and Martha Lou Waites
He is survived by one daughter, JoAnna White and husband Eric; two sons, Daniel Jones and wife Ashley and Kevin Jones; four grandchildren, Ryne Wilson, Kaden Jones, Katelynn Pitcock and Karson Jones; one sister, Carolyn Joyce Rauls and husband Raymond; and his loved canine companion, Sadie.
