He was a retired Monticello School District OEC Instructor with 32 years of service and a member of First Assembly of God Church of Monticello. Rick loved deer hunting, squirrel hunting and riding horses. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Joan Johnston; and two brothers, Bill Binns and Charles Hanson Binns, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Phyllis Beck Binns of Rock Springs; two children, Joey Binns and wife Amy of New Edinburg and Shelley Mitchell and husband Tim of Warren; step children, Angela Smith and husband David of Woodlawn and Todd Morrison (Christine Franklin) of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Ta Stanfield and wife Laura, Joey Hanson Binns, Jr., Abbie Ferrell and husband Logan, Joey Binns, Jr., Sarah Richards and husband Wesley and Brooke Moring and husband Devlyn; great grandchildren, Lane and Brook Stanfield, Hayden Binns, Kinsley and Parker Ferrell, Lily Moring, Brooke, Dax and Rilie Richards; step grandchildren, Ashley Butler and husband Dustin, Hunter Smith and wife Jessica, Storm Smith and wife Abbie, and Jordan Davis and husband Michael; step great grandchildren, Traver, Allysa and Kaylie Butler, Orion and Shiloh Smith, Camden and Jasper Davis; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Enon Cemetery in Rye, AR with Brother Carroll Bryant officiating. You can sign Rick's guestbook registry here on his page.
